OBITUARY: Rites Held Monday For Leif N. Holm: Funeral services were held for Leif Nickolas Holm, 62, on Monday, Feburary 21st, at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. CG Lygre officiating. Leif Nickolas Holm was born January 17, 1915 to Claus and Elie (nee Johnson) Holmnear Lesterville and was baptized in infancy into Christian faith, and on December 28, 1930 was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and then transferred membership to the Zion Lutheran Church. He received his elementary education in a rural country school. He was united in marriage to EllaStillman on January 17,1940 at the Lutheran parsonage at Midway. He was engaged in farming in the Scotland area until 1947 when he moved into Scotland due to ill health. He was then employed by Scotland Transfer and Ritter Implement until 1964 when poor health forced him to retire. He was admitted to Sacred Heart Hospital on February 8th and died on Friday evening, Feb. 18th, of an apparent heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Ella; seven children, George, Mrs. Norman (Nellie) Maruska, & Melvin, all of Scotland; Carolyn of Yankton; Mrs. Melvin (Marilyn) Gimbel of Scotland; Mrs. Dwayne (Evelyn) Werkmeister of Watertown; and Pamela, a freshman student at Hawarden, Iowa., college; Six grandchildren; three brothers, George of Borup, Minn; Hilmar of Salem; Hans of Tabor; and four sisters, Mrs. Henry (Edith) Evenson of Lesterville, Mrs. Henry (Helga) Swenson of Dilworth Minn., Mrs. Hugh (Dagny) Stevenson, Mrs. Milo (Signe) Novak, both of Scotland; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, a sister and a daughter, Linda Kay, in 1950.. Music for the services was provided by Mr. & Mrs. Lester Muehlbeier, accompanied by Kris Baumiller, organist. Casket bearers were Palmer Foss, John Jochims, Clarence Zweifel, Ervin Trick, Carl and Oscar Evenson. Interment was made in Rosehill Cemetery with arrangements under the direction ofPetrik Funeral Home.
