While teaching at A & M(1932-1942) developrd a cotton harvester. In (1942) moved to Belmar NJ to work with the Signal Corps at Ft Monmouth helping to develope Radar. (1943-1969) worked for Dept of Agriculturein the Engineering Division, and Dept of Entomology. He developed a decordicator and became an International expert on long vegetable fibers, and had an article in the Encyclopedia Britannica. On loan to the Reconstruction Finance Corp durin 1951-1952 he traveled extensively in Central America seeking new sources of Naval Cordage. His hobby was roses.On being told roses could not survive in Southern Florida, he set about making his rose garden a show place, and washonored by the City for his efforts. He gave illustrated lectures all over Florida, and had articles published by the American rose Society. He won countless prizes for his roses, and along with his wife, judgedmany rose shows. He worked at developing new roses, and at the time of his death, he ead several new roses in the test garden in Shreveport, LA.
