1. The following was copied from the 30 Sep 1998 issue of the
Herald-Journal, Spartanburg, SC:
"Greer -- Anna Collins Brockman, 81, of 102 S. Beverly Lane died
Sept. 28, 1998, at her home after a lengthy illness. A native of
Campobello and a lifelong resident of Greer, she was the daughter
of the late Smiley and Flora Neeves Collins. She was a member
of Greer First Baptist Church, where she taught a children's Sunday
school class for 10 years. She was a member of the Victory Sun-
day School Class for more than 20 years. She also was a graduate
of Asheville Teachers College and served on the faculty of Moun-
tain View High School for two years. Surviving are her husband,
David Bernard Brockman of the home, two daughters, Pam Lan-
caster of Dalton, Ga., and Maria Ponder of Lexington; a brother,
Maurice J. Collins of Campobello; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Greer First Baptist Church,
conducted by Dr. Wilson Nelson. Private graveside services will
be held. Memorials may be made to Greenville Memorial Hospice,
255 Enterprise Blvd., Suite 140, Greenville, 29615; or to Greer First
Baptist Church, New Challange Day, P.O. Box 531, Greer, 29652."
