DepartmentStore, first in downstairs store, then cashier on main floor, andbookkeeper in the office. Was there eight years until married April6, 1910 to John G. Sell. Moved to Philadelphia PA. Lived there twoyears. Then moved to Sunbury, PA and finally after 10 years, went toCalifornia. Came back to Philadelphia. Was there about 10 years.Then to Easton, MD. They had three children - Margaret A., M. Louise,and John J. Myrtle and John Sell celebrated their 50th WeddingAnniversary April 6, 1960." Myrtle writes in her family tree: " In Memory of Our Mother andFather" ... "They (Joshua and Amanda) were the best parents one couldhave. They were strict in raising the family but never mean ormistreated anyone. Mother helped father in the shop and was alwaysbusy at home. In spare time, she made quilts and knitted gloves andstockings for the family. Also rugs and lots of embroidery. She hadlaughing blue eyes and genial disposition. She loved her church,which wa Methodist. We received a good way of life from her example.My love of books was inherited from her. As she passed her lateryears with books, so have I.
