The following was obtained by Robert Warwick Jr. from the handwritten"Family Tree" prepared by Myrtle Seitz Sell (1962). "She was raisedby her sisters and an Aunt and Uncle in Huntingdon, PA. These folkssent her to school and wanted to send her to college, but she refusedto go. The Uncle was the Principal of the Schools of Huntington. Shewas very bright and loved to read. Her children got books for herfrom Sunday School and public school libraries. She lived with hersister Lynn (Mrs. Michael Watson) of Glen Rock, PA more than anyoneelse. Her mother died when she was quite young. Amanda was known as"Maggie" Seitz after she married Joshua. Her sisters Lucy Sechristand Mrs. Michael Watson would visit her every year in September duringthe Hanover Fair after their families were raised. Lucy Sechrist hada black horse, rather old and slow, hitched to a high two-wheeledtrotting buggy. In this they drove all over the countryside. Theypacked their belongings in two carpet bags. There were no suitcasesin thosed days. They arrived at our (Joshua and Amanda's) for aweeks' stay always dressed in black and wore black sum bonnets. Itwas a very funny sight for the children to see them arrive. The threesisters had such a good time together, always in good humor."
