General Notes: On a 1900 census copy sent to me from descendants of John Hass, (Edward's older brother), Edward is living with John, Christina, Alma (Detlef's daughter), and Adelia (John's daughter) on their farm in Iowa. It appears as though Edward also went to Iowa to help Christina after Detlef's death. He was 18 years old at the time and did return to Wisconsin. A newspaper article from the Sheboygan Press, Wisconsin, in which a man is found dead on the side of the road, refers to the location as beside Highway 57, near the Edward Hass farm.
