Nicoline went to Seattle. Aunt Johanne was invited to her and went overin the early twenties. Nicoline was married to Fritz Johnson, and whenshe passed away, he came to Norway and married my Aunt Astrid. My fathertold me that this marriage was very unpopular in the family.
Aunt Johanne really got her Examen Artium (added by janet...Examen artiumis the entrance examination to the Norwegian University) and she learnedseveral languages (some at school, some by herself) English, French,German, Italian and some Russian.
Aunt Johanne went to the USA in the early twenties where she went to acommercial school and later got a job as a clerk. She died from brainfever, my father told me. She was a member of the religious communitycalled the Pentacostalists.
