"My grandmother (Eliza Baker Carr) was born in New York. She used to
play onthe battle grounds on Lake George. Her mother's name was Eliza
Sunderlin; she was a decendent on her mother's side from the
Revolutionary patriot NathanReed on her mother side. I get all this
information from the obituaries I have."
"My grandmother Carr was a wonderful woman. She wrote hundreds of poems
and they were published in the "Western Rural" a farm paper. She won
prizes for her stories published in the Chicago Daily. She composed some
music.I have one of her pieces. I had many of her poems, but they were
lost in thefire."
