Ich lernte sie während Ferienauftenthalten in ihrem Elternhaus in Liebenscheid kennen, als sie sich mit einer Freundin begeistert für den Dienst als Diakonisse in Marburg-Wehrda entschied. Sie war dann viele Jahre dort und in einem Krankenhaus in Frankfurt/M als Krankenschwester tätig. Weil sie sich dort in ihrer Persönlichkeit zu stark eingeschränkt fühlte, schied sie bei den Diakonissen aus und war noch viele Jahre als Stationsleitern im Jung-Stilling-Krankenhaus in Siegen tätig.
