Eugene Sylvester SCHROEDER

Gene, 82, passed away at his home. He was the son of Urban and Esther (Ellerbrock) Schroeder. On Oct 23, 1957, he married Patricia A. Verhoff, who preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons: Gordon (Debra), New Bavaria, Kurt, Ottawa, and Nate (Rachel), Pemberville; two daughters: Rose (Steve) Krietemeyer, Ft. Jennings, and Karen (Kent) Niese, Miller City; three brothers: John, Ottawa, Carl, FL, and Robert, Leipsic; four sisters: Mildred Schulte, Continental, Clara Cavanaugh, Ottawa, Irene Conklin, Toledo, and Eileen Niese, Leipsic; thirteen grandchildren: Eric (Maria) Krietemeyer, Megan Krietemeyer, Marissa Krietemeyer, Matthew Huntsman, Andrew Huntsman, Bradley (Amanda) Schroeder, Mark Schroeder, Nicole Schroeder, Jared Niese, Natasha Niese, Felicia Schroeder, Abigail Schroeder and Alivia Schroeder; and three great-grandchildren: Gage, Sophie and Haley. Deceased are two brothers: Gerald and Daniel; and a sister, Dorothy Fruchey. He retired as a supervisor for quality control after over 35 years with SCM Allied Egry, Leipsic. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and a lifetime member of the Ottawa Eagles. He was a US Army Veteran who enjoyed pitching horseshoes, The Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, with Rev. Matt Jozefiak officiating.
