She Ends Life Mrs. Venino Places Rings on Children's Fingers Before TurnIng on the Gas. Placing diamond ring on the finger of her 15-year-old daughter, Lillian, and another upon the finger of her son, Robert, 11, telling them never to remove the jewels; Mrs. May Venino, 38, wife of Frank Venino, a fireman attached to Engine Co. No. 6, arranged her personal papers, neatly piled her best clothes on a chair and,going to the bathroom, stretched out on the floor and placed a tube attached to an open gas jet in her mouth, inhaling the deadly fumes until life was extinct. The daughter, noting that her mother had teen in the bathroom for a long time, went to the door, and on sight opening that it she was ran so horrified screaming at from the the house to the home of a neighbor, Mrs. MacKenzie, who notified Venino. Rushing home, Venino saw John Russell, a city employe on the street and asked him to call police headquarters. Accident Investigator Charles Braasch, Motorcycle Policeman George Brower, Detective William Taylor and Patrolman Raymond Day responded. Mrs. Venino was taken the city hospital in the hope that she might be revived, but physicians pronounced her dead on arrival at the institution. Venino said later that hiswife had been in ill health for years, and had been under the care of several physicians. It Is supposed that she ended her life in a fit of despondency over her condition. County Physician Lewis R. Souder, after making an investigation, gave a certificate of suicide and released the body for burial. | |

ELWOOD, April 19 Mrs. Litlian S. Venino, 55, mother of Lt. Harrington, World War II firing, for ace the who most holds German the world'splanes shot down on night sorties, died Monday at her home. 726 White Horse pike, after a short illness. Lt. Harrington, who is stationed with the 19th Fighter Squadron, U.S. Army, in Panama, is expected to arrive home Tuesday by plane. Mrs. Venino was the wife of Frank A.Venino, a retired fireman of the Atlantic City department. Born in England, she was a resident here 25 years. Services will be held Thursday in Egg Harbor City. | |
