[v10t2781.ftw] According to the Delphos Centenial Book of 1978, Casper Mesker was one of the original settlers in Delphos. Leaving Germany in Sept of 18xx arriving in New York in Nov?? then taking lake vessels to Cleveland then Toledo and a riverboat down the Maumee River to Napoleon OH. Their boat became frozen in the river at Napoleon. They then travelled by wagon to Fort Jennings OH where a winter storm stopped them. Fort Jennings settlers took them in until spring when they continued their journey to Delphos.
