The [Clarksville, TN] Leaf-Chronicle, Friday, December 8, 2000, p B2 WILLIAM KOVERMAN Retired Maj. William Matthew Koverman, 60, Sherwood, Ark., formerly of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at his home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Clarksville, with the Rev. Eric Fowlkes officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home. A prayer wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. He was born March 7, 1940, in Anna, OH, son of William J. and Hilda Artkamp Koverman. Mr. Koverman was retired from the Air Force having been a major and C-130 navigator and was employed by Lockheed Martin, Little Rock Air Force Base as an instructor navigator. He had a meritorious service medal, air medal, with five oak leaf clusters, Air Force commendation medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force outstanding unit award with five oak leaf clusters, national defense service medal, Vietnam service medal with three bronze service stars. In addition to his mother of Anna, survivors include his wife, Therese Brier Koverman; two sons, David R. Koverman, Omaha, Neb., and Steve C. Koverman, Charleston, S.C.; two daughters, Monique K. Wenzler, and Sandrine M. Koverman, both of Clarksville; four brothers, Robert Koverman, Gerald Koverman, both of Troy, OH, and James Koverman and John Koverman, both of Anna; a sister, Sylvia Kramer, Maria Stein, OH; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jessie Morgan, Norman Rollins, Charles Nichols, Lynn Hall, Pete Petrich, Rob Wenzler and Al Collette. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 370203, or to the Hospice of Little Rock, Ark.
