Lucille Kathryn Doenges, 83, 8861 Guadalupe Road, New Bremen, died March 2, 2005, at her home.
She was born Dec. 25, 1921, in Botkins, to Martin and Anna Daniel Huecker. On Aug. 19, 1944, she married Louis William Doenges who survives.
Also surviving are seven sons, Andrew (Jan), Mark (Terri) and Edward (Marge), all of New Bremen, Joseph (Sharon) of Sugar Land, Texas, William (Edith) of St. Marys, Greg (Carol) of Philothea, and Jeff of Bethesda, Md., and eight daughters, Susan (James) Wagner, Celina, Nancy (Patrick) Fitzgerald, Bowling Green, Fran (Mick) Hanselman, Ashtabula, Rita (Ralph) Tobe, Coldwater, Therese (Bill) Pohlman, Versailles, Kathleen (Rob) Tucker, Radford, Va., Barb of Frankfurt, Germany, and Amy (Shawn) Brady, Springboro.
Other survivors include two brothers, Richard Huecker, Sidney, and Eugene Huecker, Huber Heights; two sisters, Mary Ballweg, Huber Heights, and Ruth Bertke, Maria Stein; 39 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers Daniel and Veron Huecker.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Sodality, both of Montezuma, St. Marys Deanery Community Service program, Mercer Co. Farm Bureau, the Red Hat Society, Royal Roughriders Book Club and State Line Writers Club. She served as a 4-H adviser for more than 30 years and a member of the Mercer Co. Community Hospital Board of Governors for 14 years. A volunteer at Valley Nursing Home, Celina Manor Nursing Home and State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice, she received the Jefferson Volunteer Award and was named Mercer Co. Chronicle Senior Citizen of the Year for 2004.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, the Rev. James Dugal officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Contributions can be made to State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice.
