Dear Anton, I am researching my Berends family from Coevorden, NL and I've noticedthat you have my great great grandfather listed...on back, and also my greatuncle Egbert Berends who married Janna Visscher. Egbert and Janna (Visscher) came to America in about 1886 and have longpassed. I grew up just down the street from where Egbert and JannaBerends are buried here in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My great grandfather was a brother to Egbert. My great grandpa was JanHendrik Berends who also emigrated to America somewhere around 1870. I have the children of Egbert and Hinderkien (Ensink) Berends as follows: 1. Berend Berends b. June 21, 1833 Coevorden, De Loo 265 2. Harmiina Berends b. Sept 28, 1835 Coevorden, De Loo 265 3. Grietien Berends b. June 18, 1838 Coevorden, De Loo 265 4. Albert Berends b. Feb 18, 1841 Coevorden, De Loo 265 5. Jan Hendrick Berends b. Feb 6, 1844 Coevorden, De Loo 265 m. Elizabeth VanHaitsma in March of 1874 in Zeeland, Ottawa County, Michigan. d. Jan 26, 1920 buried in the Zutphen Cemetery, Jamestown Township., Ottawa County, Michigan 6. Egbert Berends b. August 13, 1847 Coevorden, De Loo 265 m. Janna Visscher on April 29, 1876 in Coevorden, NL emigrated to America in 1886. d. in 1916 in Kent County, Michigan both are buried in the Oakhill Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan I would love to talk more to you and learn more about cousins that didn't cometo America.
