Cox, 85, of the Beulah area of Ramey, who died in the Philipsburg Hospital on Monday evening, June 14, 1993, will be held at the Raymond M. Hayes Funeral Home in Houtzdale on Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. James C. Grove officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Glasgow. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday up to the time of the services. He was a fromer resident of Houtzdale. He was born on Aug. 11, 1907, the son of Hezekiah and Minerva Cox. Mr. Cox was employed in the various coal mines of the area for over 40 years. He was married to the former Effie Hollen, who died in 1974. Surviving him are these children: Mrs. Betty Zeigler of Sudbury, Mass.; Mrs. Gaton (Joyce) Nolet of Houston, Texas; James of Ontario, Calif.; Mrs. Manuel (Linda) Estrada of Texas City, Texas; and Clifford of Ramey. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, these three children: Patricia, William Jr. and Margaret; two brothers and two sisters.
