From an old penned manuscript dictated by Eleanor Jane Blount: Joseph Potts came from England. Landed in one of the Carolinas. Then moved to Kentucky. He was the father of Jesse and Joseph Potts.Jese Potts was the father of seven sons and three daughters. Joseph Potts as married in Kentucky. There was one daughter, Katie, but he was separated and moved to Tennessee and then to Mississippi. He married Mary Huffman, Vaiden, Mississippi. Jesse married Fannie Roland. Their children were George,James,Melissa,Jake,Pink,Casandra,Cicely Ellen and Fayette. Jennie first married a Stegall and had one child that died in infancy.Stegall died and then she married Barghinnie, an Italian. To them one son was born, Salvatori, and two daughters, Mary and Dorothy.They moved to Florence, Mississippi, and owned a vineyard there and sent to Italy for the grape vines. Lydia married Frank Cathcart. Their children were John, James,and as remembered by grandmother Potts,Levi,Elizabeth and Texana. Elizabeth married Livingston. Children were Joe, Lydia,Carolina,and Susan. Eveline died unmarried. Easter married but married name not rememebred. Mary Carolyn lived a spinster till up in years and then married John McGrew. They had no children..
