[Bill's Nutt.FTW] (See her narrative under her father's name). I am the only child of Claude and Jeanette Nutt. Although born in Wichita, I was reared in Neosho and Texas. I graduated from Neosho High School and Joiner College of Commerce in Carthage, Mo. After the family returned to Wichita, I returned there also and did graduate work at Wichita University, now Wichita State. I only lacked five hours receiving an MA. Mother fell and broke her back - I was working and caring for her - so could not complete my masters in time to save the hours needed for graduation. During these years, I WAS THE RADIO STORY LADY on K.F.H. RADIO. Prior to my return to Wichita, and while in Neosho, I started my 37th year Federal Civil Service Career at Camp Crowder Post Headquarters. That career was held up by my return to school, but after graduation, I resumed my career, first with the Veteran's Administration in Houston, Texas. Next I worked seventeen years with the Air Force at McConnell AFB, Ks. In 1968 I transferred to the Dept. of Defense here in Kansas City as a property officer for Eastern Kansas, Southern Nebraska, and Western Missouri. Later, I worked as a government contract administrator for commercial films in the same territory. I retired in 1983, and have since enjoyed my home, travel, church, and membership in DAC, DAR, Mayflower Society, card club and retiree organizations.. .these interests keep me busy and happy.
