[Abraham.FTW] The origin of the name Cheshire/Chesser and about 28 other spellings is that of cheese- maker. Cheshire cheese made from the milk from the cows of that county in England is strong but tasty. From the book, Cultural Literacy: In Through the Looking Glass(Alice in Wonderland), Lewis Carroll's use of the "Cheshire Cat" actually was a play on words for "a bag of cheese". Cat was a slang term at the time for a bag or sack and Cheshire of course, where the cheese came from. CHESSER, JAMES B.
