DEATH: Monroe County Clarion: September 9, 2006 pg A4Carolyn J. Zipfel Mudd, 63, of Red Bud died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud. She was born Oct. 17, 1942, in Red Bud to the late Robert Zipfel and Luella Rosemeier Zipfel. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Red Bud, where she was a trustee and member of the funeral choir, quilters and St. Ann Altar Sodality. She was a member of the Red Bud Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Mudd, whom she married Jan. 6, 1962, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ruma; two sons, Christopher Mudd of Perryville, Mo., and Clinton Mudd of Columbia; five daughters, Cynthia Goessling of Waterloo, Carmela Straub of St. Louis, Connie Reeves of Peoria, Ariz., Cathy Wiegard of Red Bud and Colleen Hamby of Raytown, Mo.; a brother, Robert Zipfel of Red Bud; two sisters, Mary Lou Mehring of Red Bud and Barbara Hecke of Concordia, Mo.; and thirteen grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents; and a sister, Rosalie Whelan. Funeral services were Sept. 4 at St. John Catholic Church in Red Bud with the Rev. Tom Stout officiating. Burial was in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud. Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud handled the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the St. Clement Community Foundation
