Angeline A. (Zipfel) Koesterer, 83, of Freeburg, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at Four Fountains Convalescent Center in Belleville. She was born Aug. 20, 1923 in New Athens. Mrs. Koesterer was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg and of its Women's Club.Surviving are four daughters and a son, Ann Jean (Gary) Hacker and Cathy (Vernon) Becker, both of Belleville, and Paulette (Gary) Stevenson, Michael (Mary Ann) Koesterer, and Lisa (Jeff) Middendorf, all of Freeburg; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Winterbauer of Freeburg; and nieces and nephews.She married Adolph A. Koesterer on Feb. 10, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1970. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. and Anna (Becker) Zipfel; three sisters, Dorothy Holst, Jeanette Zipfel and Esther Reuter; two brothers, Roger Zipfel and Mark Zipfel; and three grandchildren, Alex Rae Koesterer, Bradley Stevenson, and Jesse Hacker.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2007, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Freeburg, IL. A prayer Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerald Hechenberger officiating.Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg. Arrangements by George Renner & Sons Funeral Home in Freeburg. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Grade School. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.rennerfh.com.
