<p><span style="color: #404041; font-family: 'Open Sans'; font-size: 15px;">HUMMEL, JOHN K. John K. Hummel, 81, of Southbury, formerly of Seymour, the beloved husband of Lois Remeika Hummel, passed away peacefully on Saturday , October 18, 2014, at The Hearth at Southbury. He was born in Derby, CT, on December 12, 1932, son of the late Clarence G. and Eleanor Kibbe Hummel. John was an active member of The Seymour Congregational Church and served as a Deacon. He was a graduate of Seymour High School Class of 1950 and Suffield Academy Class of 1951. John attended Duke University and was a graduate of The University of CT. John was an avid golfer and had traveled the world. He was a Seymour Babe Ruth Baseball Coach for 20 years, and he was an avid UCONN and Yale sports fan. For many years, John attended NCAA Basketball Tournament Final Four with a group of his good friends. John loved to attend all Seymour High School athletic events. John was a Vice President for the former Seymour TrustCompany where he had worked for many years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. John will be sadly missed by his family and friends. His loving family in addition to his wife Lois, includes his caring son James T. Hummel of Waterbury, loving daughter Laura A. Hummel of Southbury, his beloved brother James C. Hummel and his wife Jean of Southbury, andthree cherished grandchildren, Peri and Alex Hummel of Middlebury, and Ava Hummel of Southbury, and two nieces and a nephew.&nbsp;</span></p>
