Mrs. Jennie R. Elfeld, widow of Frank Elfeld, was found dead in bed in her home, 920 S. Oak Ave., about 3 p.m. Saturday. Traffic Sgt. Richard W. Jacobs and Patrolman Harvey Toepfer were sent to the home after neighbors notified police they had not seen Mrs. Elfeld during the day. They used a skeleton key to obtain entrance. Coroner Gene Burke said death resulted from natural causes and there would be no inquest. She was born in Freeport Sept 1, 1876, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Van Gerpen. Her
marriage to Frank Elfeld took place Sept 30, 1903. Her husband died Aug 26, 1956. There are no immediate survivors. Service will be in the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Anthony P. Landgraf, pastor of Second Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
