Graf von Sponheim. Hermann [III]Archbishop of Köln settled the dispute between Kloster Brauweiler and Köln St Maria by charter dated 1090, witnessed by "Stephanus comes, Gerhardus de Hostade, Arnoldi prefectus urbis,Adelbertus de Safinberg, Adolfus de Monte, Adelbero de Duno…". Trithem´s 1506 Chronicon Spanheimensis records that "Stephanus comes de Sponheim" donated property to "ecclesiam suam in Monte campi" by charter dated 1101. m SOPHIE, daughter of ---. Adalbert Archbishop of Mainz confirmed donations to Disibodenberg, including the donation of "villam Nuwenkirchen" owned by "mater eius Dna Sophia" made by "Comes Megenhardus de Spanheim" with the consent of "sororis sue Dne Iuste", by charter dated 1128.
