FORMER PARKSTON LADY MEETS DEATH BY ACCIDENT

The followning taken from a Colfax, Washington paper is an account of the accidental death of a former resident of Parkston. Mrs. Magdalena Heth, who is a sister of Mrs. Daniel Leischner, of this city. The account follows.

"Stepping back to avoid an approaching car while crossing the street, Mrs. Magdalena Heath, aged 54years, stopped directly in the path of a car going the opposite direction last Friday afternoon, and was knocked down and run over, receiving injuries from which she died in a few minutes.

"The accident occurred on South Main street within a few feet of thecrossing of the Moscow branch of the OWB&N. Fred Ocha and family, who live on Alkali flat, about 14 miles west of Colfax, werein the car whick ran over Mrs. Heth. Alby Ocha, 15 year old son of Mr. Ocha, was driving the car, whick according to witnessess was moving only at the rate of 10 or 12 miles an hour.

"Harold Heth, son of the unfortunate woman, was in a car oly a few feet away. He says that is was a pure accident and he does not blame anyone. He sayd the Osha car stopped within 10 feet after hitting his mother.

"Mrs. Heth and her son had been down town in their car and were returning to their home on West Fairview street, when Mrs. Heth said she wanted to get some groceries at the Colfax Table Supply, which they were passing th the moment. The son stopped the car on the right had side of the street going south, a few feet from the railroad crossing Mrs. Heth got out of the car andhad started across the towards the store when she saw a car approaching from the south. She stepped back without looking in the opposite direction and stepped directly in front of the Ocha car. The car passed over her lower limbs and head. She was taken to the St. Ignatius hospital, but died before anything could be done for her.

Surviving are three daughter and two sons: Mrs R. W. Dierks, Colfax; Mrs. H. L. Blunt, Fishtrap; Mrs. C.L. Neil, Midvale, Idaho; Harold and Julius Heth, Colfax; three brothers, Michale Kroll and Adolph Kroll, Colfax and Otto Kroll , Palouse; and one sister, Mrs. Dan Leischner, Parkston, South Dakota

" The funeral of Mrs. Heth was held from the Baptisit church Monday at 2 p.m. the Rev. W. P. Osgood officiating. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery. Mrs. Heth had been a resident of Colfax mot os the time for the last 35 years.
