Danny B. Mergen Jr., 34, of Kittanning, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1980, in Kittanning, a son of Danny B. Mergen Sr. and Clara K. (Litteck) Mergen, of Kittanning. A lifelong resident of the area, Danny touched so many people and will be missed and loved by many. He enjoyed going to the casino and Kennywood, watching movies on the computer and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Delores Litteck, of Kittanning; uncles, Ronald (Lo) Morgan, of Parker, James (Roberta) Morgan, of North Apollo, Ralph (Theda) Mergen, of Kittanning, Jesse (Kimberly) Litteck, of Manorville, William Litteck, of Kittanning, Nelson 'Otis' Litteck, of Kittanning, Carl (Krista) Holly, of Kittanning, Robert (Billie) Holly, of Kittanning, and Michael Kunselman, of Kittanning; aunts, Eleanor Shumaker, of Ohio, Stella (Dave) Shumaker, of Butler, Trudell Steele, of Distant, Carol Mergen, of Kittanning, Abbie (Ray) Shaner, of Kittanning, Lou Anna Croyle, of Kittanning, Deb Litteck, of Kittanning, Donna Padgett, of Kittanning, and Kristy (Kenneth) Johns, of Worthington; nephew, Austin Litteck; niece, Emily Litteck; nephew, Kody Righi; and other numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Daisy French; uncle, John Mergen; and maternal grandfather, Nelson Litteck Sr. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME in Kittanning with Pastor Matthew Cornman officiating.
