John Howard Stamplfi, 57, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home February 6, 2013. He was born on January 30, 1956 in Reno, Nevada to Robert and Irene Stampfli. He attended Reno schools, graduating from Wooster High School in 1974, and then attended the University of Nevada, Reno. John began his working career with the Kmart warehouse in 1975 and then T&T Engineering as a mechanic in 1977. John made a career change in the early 1980's, learning the media business, working as a media buyer for Allison & Associates Advertising Agency for 5 years, the MGM Grand Hotel as Marketing Director for 10 years, and Marketing Manager at John Ascuaga's Nugget for 13 years. He has been with Scolari's Food And Drug for 11 years as Marketing Manager. John married the love of his life, Ronda Hoy, in 1975 and they have been married for 37 wonderful years. Together, they raised 3 children and adore 6 grandchildren. John will be remembered for his dedication and love for his family. He was a humble, and amazingly kind, gentle man with a sense of humor that brought a smile to all who knew him. John was preceded in death by his father and mother. John is survived by his step-mother Patricia Stampfli; wife Ronda; children, Lindsay Stampfli (Eva), John (Tarah) Stampfli, Katie Stampfli (Bob); brothers, Rob Stampfli, Jimmy (Marilyn) Minor; sisters, Cathy (Hank) Jacobsen, Lisa (Bob) Mueller, Julie Acquafondata; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's name to The Food Bank of Northern Nevada. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 15 from 3 - 6pm at Pinocchio's Restaurant, 4820 Vista Blvd. in Sparks, Nevada. NO TIES PLEASE.
