Jeanette C. Lynch, 80, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 2282 Paisley Court, died peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2006, at the care center. She joins her husband, "Looper," in the house of their Lord. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
She was born on June 15, 1925, in New Vienna, Iowa, daughter of Peter and Mary (Loeffelholz) Heying. Jeanette married Dick "Looper" Lynch on Nov. 27, 1948, at Nativity Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on April 25, 2004.
She lived in Dubuque almost her entire life. Jeanette resided at Stonehill Care Center the last four years, where she was well cared for and loved dearly by the staff.
She was a very caring and loving wife and mother who loved her children and grandchildren and was blessed with abundance.
In addition to raising a loving family, over the years Jeanette was a volunteer fund-raising caller for nonprofit agencies. She also worked election polls for the Democratic Party. She was always willing to help those in need.
Surviving are 11 children, Mary Pat (Mike) Ament, Ann (Dan) Hoffman, Kevin (JoAnn Rodriguez), Patrick (Sheila Moldt), William and Paul (Jayne Jochum), both of Dubuque, Richard of Anchorage, Alaska, Dennis (Valerie), of Visalia, Calif., Susan (Pat) Strub, of Rock Island, Ill., Lynn (Steve) Graves, of Waukee, Iowa, and John (Laurie Doyle), of Middleton, Wis. She was the proud grandma of 26 grandchildren, Zachary (Molly Mulgrew) and Samantha Ament, Ben and Adam (Jess Gabel) Hoffman, Justin (Becky Beaston) Lynch, Jake and Hannah Lynch, Katie and Kelsey Strub, Aaron (Jamie Sonney) and Sarah Graves, Jaimie, Amber, Brooke, Logan and Jade Lynch, Ryan Buechele Lynch, Jacob (Wendy Zopf), Josh (Sara Steil), Matt and Whitney Lynch, Spencer, Chase and Clayton Lynch and Cody Krug and Michael Lynch; four great-grandchildren, Isabelle and James Patrick Ament, Colin Gallagher and Brandon Lynch; two sisters, Dorothy O'Brien, of Sandwich, Ill., and Grace (Ralph) Maiers, of Manchester, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Louise (Tom) Qui
rk, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Michael Matthew; her parents; three sisters, Kay Postler, Anna Mae Heying and Germaine O'Mara; two brothers, James and Floyd Heying; two sisters-in-law, Monnie and Kay Lynch; and three brothers-in-law, William, Elmer and Peter Lynch.
