Elinor Wolf , 99, of New Ulm, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, in Madelia. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 9, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Elinor Lydia Vomhof, the daughter of Martin and Emma (Meyer) Vomhof, was born December 20, 1904, in rural Goodhue, MN. After her mother's death when Elinor was eleven days old, she was raised for five years by her Aunt Meta Eppen until her father re-married Ernestine Lange. Elinor was confirmed in 1918 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue. She was united in marriage to Waldemar Wolf October 14, 1931 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue. Elinor worked at Pat's Cleaners and Dr. Martin Luther College Food Service before retiring in 1969. Waldemar died January 20, 1985. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.
Survivors include her daughter, Nyla Wille and her husband Lawrence of Morristown, MN; grandchildren, Paul Thiede and his wife Marie of New Ulm, Robin Wille of Minneapolis, MN, Sarah Wille and her husband Michael Kneer of Shoreview, MN; great-grandchildren, Emma and Liam Kneer of Shoreview, MN; and step-great-grandchildren, Timothy and Amanda Waibel of New Ulm
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Waldemar; son, Marlin Wolf, in infancy; daughter, Beatrice Thiede; brother, Erwin Vomhof; son-in-law, Roland "Benny" Thiede; and sister-in-law, Pearl Vomhof.
Memorials are preferred to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Building Fund.
