Edward Hoff, 80 of Austin and formerly of Brenham, passed away in Austin where he resided for only a couple of months. Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to live with the one true God on Thursday, February 24, 2005. Mr. Hoff was born October 8, 1924 in Bellville, Texas to Herman Hoff and Adela Dahms Hoff. He attended school in Austin County and later the Monaville school. He served overseas in World War II in the European Theater of Operations with the 2052nd Fire Fighter Engineers. On June 8, 1947 he married Mary Louise Fischer in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg by Rev. Arthur R. Wolber. He lived most of his life in Brenham and Hempstead, having been employed by Lawrence Marshall as an auto technician for over 35 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and the Men’s Group of Christ Lutheran in Brenham. He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Adela Hoff of Waller, Texas; brothers Herbert Hoff, Wilbert Hoff, Lester Hoff and son-in-law Randy Reese. Survivors include his wife Mary Louise Hoff of Austin; daughter Sandra Stepan and husband Ray Stepan and grandchildren Darren Stepan and wife Kimberley Stepan; Chris Stepan and great-grandchild Trevor Stepan; daughter Donna White and husband Darelle White and grandchildren Jason White and wife Rebekah White and Nathan White; daughter Debbie Newton and husband Brian Newton and grandchildren Brooke Newton and Nicolette Newton; brothers Albert Hoff and Herman Hoff, brother and sister- in-law Herman and Betty Jean Hoff; sister Ruby Caswell; sisters-in-law Elsa Hoff and Adele Kunkel; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Travis and Margie Fischer, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation with the Hoff family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Christ Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Blair Lundborg officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Rehburg. Pallbearers are Darren Stepan, Chris Stepan, Jason White, Nathan White, Ricky Fischer, Al Duane Kunkel, Dr.Tony Foltin and Clifford Hoff. Honorary pallbearers are the Mens Card Group of Christ Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
