Notizen zu dieser Person

Conrad Huermann was born in Germany, April 21, 1804. He was a locksmith in Germany, a blacksmith in America. He first lived in Baltimore, then Cincinnati. In Cincinnati he was a tool sharpener for the contractor of a tunnel gang. Then he became a tool sharpener for the gang who built the Whitewater Canal through Metamore, IN. His first wife was born in Germany as well as two of his children. She came by way of Harrison to Oldenburg with a Mr. Ronnebaum and joined Conrad there. For ten years Conrad was a blacksmith in Oldenburg. Then he operated a saloon and hotel on the corner of Water and Pearl Streets in Oldenburg.
I found Mary Brackman Huermann's will interesting. She left the organ to Johanna. John received all the real and personal property as long as he stayed with his mother as long as she lived. If he married he received $100 for each year he stayed with her beyond the age of 21. No wonder he didn't marry until he was 50.

John's will gave $200 to each of his sisters and the rest to Aunt Anna.
This information is sketchy but it's what I have turned up by looking through real estate transactions, wills, marriage records and old census microfilms
