1. Obituary Wednesday, April 13, 1938 LEHMAN DEATH HELD ACCIDENT. PROBE COMPLETED IN TRUCK-CAR CRASH The death of Edward A. Lehman, 61 years old, Rural Route No. 2 (WestNebraska Road), was held an accident by a coroner's jury this morning.Mrs. Lehman died Tuesday from injuries incurred in an automobileaccident a week before. Death was due to pneumonia, which followedinjuries. Mr. Lehman incurred in the accident. He suffered multiple fractures of the ribs on the right side, Dr. E. CBurhans said. AUTO HIT BY TRUCK The car in which A. Lehman was riding, driven by his wife, Mrs. ElsieLehman collided with the Peoria Evening Star Company truck, driven byAlvin Ruckle, 926 Griswold St. at North Sheridan Road and West MclureAvenue. The accident occurred as Mrs. Lehman was making a left turninto McClure Avenue on April 7, she testified. Mrs. Lehman said her car was facing west on McClure when it was struckby the truck which was travelling at a fast rate of speed she said.Mrs. Lehman was riding in the front seat. Ruckle testified he wasdriving south on Sheridan Road and that Mrs Lehman turned left behinda street car. He said he applied the brakes, swerved the truck but therear of the truck skidded into the Lehman car. Mrs. Ruth Nelson 729West Wilcox Avenue, riding in another car, said the truck wastraveling at a fast rate of speed. Funeral services for Mr. Lehmanwill be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at St. John's MethodistEpiscopal Church with the Rev. C. H. Thrall officiating. Lehman, Edward A. -- Of rural route No. 2 Peoria, West Nebraska Road,at the Proctor hospital Tuesday, April 12, 1938 at 1:20 AM. Aged 61years, 8 months, and 24 days. Services in memory of Mr. Lehman will beheld in St. John's M. E. Church, corner of 5th and Hanford Sts.,Friday at 2:00 PM. Friends may call at the residence on West Nebraskaroad between the house of 2 PM Thursday and noon Friday, after whichtime the body will will be in state at the church until time ofservices. arrangements by Gauss.
