Hannibal Courier-Post St. Louis July 19, 1929 - Sept. 28, 2002 ST. LOUIS - Virginia Carolyn Donelson, 73, of St. Louis, diedSaturday, Sept. 28, 2002, in an automobile accident near Bourbon(Missouri). Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Calvin FeutzFuneral Home, 9480 Lewis and Clark Blvd., St. Louis. Gravesideservices will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at thefuneral home. Born July 19, 1929, in Hannibal, she was the daughter of W. Irene(Whaley) and the late William H. Boling. A 1947 graduate of Hannibal High School, Virginia attendedHannibal-LaGrange College and worked as a Bell Telephone Countyoperator. She married her college sweetheart, Bill (William A.)Donelson on June 18, 1950. He survives. While raising their three daughters, Virginia was an active member ofher church, the Christian Women's Fellowship and the PTA. She also wasa beloved Brownie and Girl Scout leader for many years. From 1979until her death, she worked for Answer Missouri (later NotifyMD)physician's exchange service. She will always be remembered as anawesome cook, an eager traveler and for staying up all night to read.Her family and friends will treasure the memory of her sweet smileand easy laugh and will remain forever grateful for the love sheshared with all of us. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by hermother-in-law, Marie Donelson, of Hannibal; three daughters andsons-in-law, Barbara and Dr. John Hoelscher of Alton, Ill., Kiki andDr. David Osterman of Sherman, Texas and Judi and Clif Derks ofLenexa, Kan.; 10 grandchildren, Erika, Carrie and Jack Hoelscher;Katie, Michael, Michelle and Dane Osterman; and Meredith, Alli andNatalie Derks; two brothers, William H. Boling, Jr. of Hannibal andDonald L. (Jean) Boling of Warrenton; a sister-in-law, Barbara Boling of Columbia; aunts, anuncle, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, and one brother, James T.Boling. Memorials may be made to Northside Christian Church, 9635 Lewis andClark Blvd., St. Louis, Missouri. 63136, or to Hannibal-LaGrangeCollege.
