Biography by Professor Joseph M. Kellogg Sarah Teter was born June 19, 1773. She married, in 1794, [Dec 24,1795] Jacob Helmick. He was born May 21, 1773 and was a son of PeterHelmick (a Revolutionary soldier) and his wife Mary M. Storms (bornMarch 17, 1752). Jacob Helmick served in the War of 1812. He livedin Randolph County for some time and then west to Warren [Clinton ?]County Ohio, where both he and his wife died. Sarah Teter was confirmed by Rev. Paul Henkel, October 16, 1789. On Sept. 14, 1803, Jacob Helmick and wife Sarah, of Randolph Countydeeded to Johnson Phares of Pendleton County, for £36, 2 tracts ofland in Pendleton County, a total of 70 acres, "on the east side ofthe North Fork near the foot of the North mountain." Recorded October4, 1803. (Pendleton deed book 4, page 99).
