Fitschen, 72, 202 E. 4th St., died today at St. John'sHosptial. He was removed to the hospital Sunday night after sufferinga stroke at his home. Born in West Florence on September 21, 1887, he was the son of Henryand Margaret Fitschen. He farmed in the Hay Creek area for many yearsbefore moving to Red Wing in 1946. He was married to Laura Klair onSeptember 27, 1911. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church inFrontenac. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Willard (Bernice) Ehlenand Mrs. Arnold (Erna) Hanson, both of Red Wing; three sons, Maynardand Arthur of Red Wing and Floyd of Zumbrota; 13 grandchildren; threebrothers, Claus and Louis of Red Wing, and Albert of Lake City, and asister, Mrs. William Betcher of Red Wing. One sister and a grandchildpreceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John's inFrontenac. Rev. harold Schwertfeger will officiate and interment willbe in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Edstron's Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2-5, 7-9p.m., from 3-9 p.m. on Thursday, and at the church on Friday from noonuntil the time of services.
