Polish: Julia and more familiarly Julka; she was born in Mikstat on the 10/1/1904. (D7)
She wrote to me that her husband was Roch Moska. She was a dressmaker. She received a pension during retirement. During her last years she lived with her youngest son Romuald in Kepno in the province Kalisz in Poland. She corresponded with me.
In 1988 she told me the following story in a letter: the first Joks (Jox) in Mikstat was a Frenchman from Paris; he came to Mikstat with Napoleon's army; he was wounded and stayed in Mikstat; he married a Polish girl. Research in a L.D.S. microfilm copy of the church registers of Mikstat revealed that the ancestor was Antoni Joks. His name first appears on the 25/12/1804. Napoleon did not gain control of this part of Poland until 1807. Napoleon and his army did not attack Russia until 1812.
Her son-in-law Feliks Gruszka wrote that she died on the 20/11/1992. Elzbieta Switon wrote that she died of a heart attack.
