Wamego - Mrs. Helen A. Kanode, 74, Wamego, died Thursday at Anaheim, Calif. where she was visiting.
She was born Aug 12, 1905, at Paxico the daughter of Hans and Sophia Holz Hasenbank. she lived all of her life in the Westmoreland and Wamego communities.
She married Frank Kanode, Oct 9, 1923. He survives. She was preceded in death by two sons, Delmer Kanode, in 1963 and Loren Kanode, in 1965.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Eula Mae Halinger, Wichita, and Lia Kaye Kanode, Cypress, Calif; four sons, Delno Gene Kanode, Cypress, Calif, Eldon Dean Kanode, Shelton, Neb., Marvin C. Kanode, Manhattan, and Verlon Kandoe Wamego; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Dishman, Westmoreland, Mrs. Hilda Mayer, Wamego and Mrs. Esther Mongold, St. George; two brothers, Harry Hasenbank and George Hasenbank, both of Wamego; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm Monday at Stewart Funeral Home, Wamego. Burial will be in Wamego City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
