OBITUARY, The Sioux City Journal, 28 February 1999:
Fred E. Hagen, 83, of McCook Lake, formerly of Sioux City, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital, after a brief illness. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. The body was cremated and there will be no visitation.
Mr. Hagen was born May20, 1915, in Hudson, Wisconsin, to Arthur E. and Charlotte L. (Nelson) Hagen. Hemarried Cindy Anderson, November 21, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He came to Sioux City as a child and lived in the area most of his life. He owned and operatedHagen Transportation from the mid 1940s to 1983. He was a member of the Triangle Masonic Lodge 643 A.F. & A.M., Abu Bekr Temple and the Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a licensed pilot.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Julie of Sioux City, Pamela Wright of Naperville, Illinois, and Terry Klopstad of Longboat Key, Florida; two sons, F.J. Hagen of Sioux City and Bob Bornholtz of Lake Ozark, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Tracie Gutknecht, Toni and Tim Wright, Michael, Brian and Gina Emmick and Todd Bornholtz; father and mother-in-law, Cyril and Yvonne Anderson of Sioux City; a brother-in-law and his wife, James and Jana Anderson of Chicago, Illinois, and two great-grandchildren.
