Lt. Angaben der Heide- und Moorsiedler-Forscher erreichte die Familie Schmidt am 04.06.1762 Flensburg (Actum des Amtshauses zu Flensburg, Sohn Johann Jacob ist 6 Monate alt) und bezieht am 06.06.1763 den Sophienhof auf Wanderupfeld (Colonie F 7, Julianenhöhe). Am 24.07.1775 brennt das Haus durch Blitzschlag ab , dabei wäre beihnahe ein Kind in der Wiege umgekommen (vermutl. Hans Peter). Heute (2002) lebt dort die Familie Buntzen (keine Landwirtschaft mehr, Äcker sind verpachtet), an die Kolonistenstelle erinnert nur noch das Schild "Sophienhof" an der Stallwand.
