"Philip was baptized on October 30, 1864. As a young man he worked inHancock and Putnam counties. After his marriage, he and Mary lived on aquarter section of land near Amanda and farmed for his father andhimself. Following the death of his father he sold the land and moved toLancaster, Ohio. Later he went back on his home farm and from there tothe home of his sister, Katherine, where he lived until his death."
