Mrs. Katherine Bargenquast, wife of George H Bargenquasst, 727 Sixth street, passed away at Mercy hospital in Oshkosh Friday morning at 12:23 o'clock following a heart attack last Wednesday.

She was born August 13, 1892 in New Holstein and was 49 years of age. OnJuly 2, 1912 she was married to George H Bargenquast at Chilton. Since 1923 she had resided in Oshkosh, but previously had always been a resident of Calumet county.

Besides the husband, she is survived by two sons, Henry and Glenroy, bothof Oshkosh one grandson, Henry George Bargenquast, two brothers and two sisters, John Williams, of Elkhart Lake, and Peter Williams, of Plymouth, and Mrs. Isador Ellenbecker, of Sheboygan, and Mrs. Edward Leider, of Waupaca.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Marquardt funeral home in Oshkosh. Rev. Douglas O Anderson of the Tenth StreetMethodict church will officiate. Internment will take at the Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery.

November 1966: George H. Bargenquast, 1215 Shiocton St., New London, age 79, passed away Tuesday evening after a lingering illness. He was born November 26, 1886 in New Holstein [to John Peter and Anna Beyer Bargenquast] and lived in the New London area for the past 20 years. Mr. Bargenquast was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of New London. Survivorsare his wife, Emma; two sons, Henry and Glenroy, both of Oshkosh; two brothers, Clarence, Fond du Lac and Hugo, Abbotsford; one sister, Mrs. Edward Bahrs, New Holstein. Also survived by seven step-children and 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Cline and Hanson Funeral Home, New London with burial in Lake View Memorial Park,Oshkosh. Rev. Richard C. Schroeder will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday until time of services. (The Post-Crescent, Appleton WI, Wed., Nov. 9, 1966, D8)

Im Jahr 1852 wanderten fast alle Einwohner des Ortes Allscheid/Eifel nach USA aus. Auf diesen merkwürdigen Umstand bin ich bei der (erfolgreichen) Suche nach den Vorfahren eines Amerikaners gestossen. Die vermutete Verwandschaft bestätigte sich zwar nicht, aber dennoch sind inzwischen viele Nachfahren dieser Allscheider Auswanderer zum Datenbestand hinzugekommen, so dass ich diesen hiermit zur Verfügung stellen möchte.
