Mary was born October 17, 1791.Mary died March 25, 1876 in Johnstown, PA, at 84 years of age. Her bodywas interred March 1876 in Johnstown, PA, Sandyvale Cemetery. He petitioned the court to become a citizen in Westmoreland Co., PA,December 1, 1840. William Peden - according to Westmoreland CountyNaturalization records, 1802-18552, compiled by Wm. L. Iscrupe - 1978,Library of Congress #78-64348, published by So. Western Pa. GenealogicalService, Laughlintown, Pa. "William Peden, a native of Ireland, migratedfrom Londonderry, Ireland in 1920, 05 July 1820, arrived in Philadelphiaand was naturalized US citizen in 1840. Filed Tuesday, 01 Dec. 1840 byProthonotary John Clark, Westmoreland County." This record also states"He was about 40 years of age." (contributed by Ned Harold Stokes) He made a will in Johnstown, PA, March 21, 1875. Cambria County Wills,William Peden County 11, Vol 2, page 551 1875: In the name of God Amen, I, William Peden of Johnstown, Cambria County,Pennsylvania, labourer being in good health of body and of sound and[---] mind and memory do make and declare this to be my last will andtestament. In the manner following that is to say I order all my justdebts to be paid my funeral expenses and carges (sic) of previously thismy will fully paid and satisfied and after payment thereof and every partthereof I give and bequeath to my son John Peden one dollar. I give andbequeath to my son James Peden the some of one dollar and I give andbequeath to my son Henry Peden one dollar, I give and bequeath to my sonEdward the sum of one dollar and to my daughter Sarah Butter wife ofElijah Butter the sum of one dollar and to Nancy Gore one dollar. Theabove sums to be paid in one year after the death of myself and wife bymy executor herein after named. And all the rest residence and the remainder of my goods and chattelsdebts ready money effects and other my estate whatsoever and wheresoeverboth real personal and [miscellaneous?] I give and bequeath the same andevery part thereof unto my son Able Peden after the death of myself andmy beloved wife and should I die first my wife to have full possessionand consideration of every thing during her natural life and I do herebyconstitute and appoint my son Abel Peden executor of this my will herebyrevoking and making void all former and other wills by me at any timeheretofore made and declare this only to be my last will and testament. Fink the subscribing witnesses to theforegoing will who being duly sworn according to law do depose and saythat they were present and saw and heard William Peden the within namedtestator, sign, seal, publish, pronounce and declare the foregoinginstrument of writing as for his last will and testament , and, at thetime of so doing he was of sound mind, memory and understanding to thebest of their knowledge, observation and belief.
