Germans to America, page 215, Ship Peter, Bremen to New York, arriving on 6 Jul 1852. Actually Passanger list from the Peter shows a letter that is used by the ship's captain that appears to be a "c" but is used in a few other names in the location of a vowel -- could be an "a" that is started.

I have good news for you! When I was at the archive in Hildesheim yesterday I checked the church records of Gieboldehausen and luckily found there the birth record of your ancestor Wilhelm Nuenemann on 4 November 1826 and the marriage record of his parents in 1806! Please find attached the Nuenemann pedigree so far. I also ordered a photocopy of Wilhelm's birth record and will send it to you by airmail as soon as I will receive it (please let me know your post address for this). The Nuenemann Ancestors 1.Nünemann (Nuenemann), Wilhelm (William), born Gieboldehausen, Hannover 4 Nov 1826, baptized 5 Nov (godfather: Wilhelm Kemmling) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- parents: 2.Nünemann (Nuenemann), Heinrich, b. abt 1781/82, d., shepherd in Gieboldehausen, md. Gieboldehausen 19 Jan 1806 (witnesses: Andreas Rüther and Friderich Diderich) 3.Rüther (Ruether), Regina, b. Gieboldehausen 26 Jun 1785, d. [Note - Jens examined various records and only found the use of Nuenemann on a few occassions and this is the only birth on the date given on the death certificate. The reporting party on the death certificate was a doctor and not a specific family member].
