Notizen zu dieser Person
Albert was supposedly married in Germany to Ida Russel and had Nannie Dittmann, born 4, Jan 1880 in Zechlin near Berlin. An undated clipping from the Chicago German language newspaper "Abendpost" in the possession of June Arquette has this interesting article that I have roughly translated below. It must have been printed in late August 1939, when Albert would have been 91 years old.

Albert L. Dittmann, 7923 Ingleside Ave. address, is probably the oldest regular subscriber and daily reader of the "Abendpost", he thereby refreshes himself. He can celebrate his 91st birthday on August 25th, is always healthy and hearty and reads his "Abendpost" daily, thereby keeping abreast of things.
Mr. Dittmann came to this land over 60 years ago, set himself down in Chicago, and from that time he has been the most loyal reader of the "Abendpost". He was born in Neu-Ruppin near Berlin, where he trained as a wheelwright. In this country he later learned the manufacture of molds, after around 20 years he earned his well deserved retirement.
Mr. Dittmann is father to seven children, who are all settled in Cjicago. He spends his declining years in the home of his daughter, Mrs. James J. Nolan, 7923 Ingleside Ave. His remaining children are: Mrs. Fred W. Scheuer, the traffic policeman Edward Dittmann, Ernst Dittmann, Miss Emma Dittman, Mrs. B.F. Madigan and Mrs. Ray Dearham.
Unfortunately we have little more to go on as to where he married his second wife, Wilhelmine Reibert.
