Marilyn Alice (Fiddelke) Dau was born on Tuesday; February 8, 1927 on the family farm near Germantown; O'Brien County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Henry and Mathilda (Gebert) Fiddelke. Marilyn was baptized on February 27, 1927 and later confirmed on May 5, 1940 all at St. John Lutheran Church. She attended St. John Lutheran School through the 8th grade and Paullina High School, graduating in 1944. On June 29, 1947, Marilyn was united in marriage to Raymond Dau at St. John Lutheran Church in Germantown. This union was blessed with two children: Dennis and Sheryl. The couple farmed south of Sutherland on Ray's parent's farm untilJune of 1992, when they retired and moved to her parent's home in Paullina. In April 2012, Ray and Marilyn moved to the Primghar Care Center in Primghar; O'Brien County, Iowa. Marilyn enjoyed time spent with her children and their families as well as friends and relatives. Through the years she enjoyed reading, playing the accordion and organ, watchingMajor League Baseball, bowling, gardening and many fishing vacations inMinnesota. She was a long time member of the K.Y.N. card club. Marilynand Ray were members of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland; O'Brien County, Iowa. Marilyn Alice (Fiddelke) Dau, age: 86, passed away onThursday; May 2, 2013 at the Primghar Care Center in Primghar, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her husband of 65 years: Ray. Her children: Dennis (Julie) Dau of Granville; Sioux County, Iowa and Sheryl(Milt) Hustedt of Sutherland; O'Brien County, Iowa. Her four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. brother, Leonard Fiddelke; in-laws,Florence and Dalton Rehder; nieces and nephews; also other relatives and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her great grandson: Damen Dau; her sister-in-law: Betty Fiddelke. Her in-laws: Laura(Harry) Rohlfsen, Delbert (Vera) Dau, Harold (Velma) Dau and Lois (Leonard) Breitbarth. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family being present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday; May 6, 2013 at the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday; May 7, 2013 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland; O'Brien County, Iowa with the Reverend Leroy Riemer ~ Officiating. Interment will be at the Liberty Township Cemetery in Calumet; O'Brien County, Iowa.
