Mrs. Fred Fiddelke, 90 of Germantown passed away Friday May 26 at Primghar. Funeral services were held Monday May 29 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Germantown with Rev. Armin Prowaztke officiating. Pallbearers were Verdis Fiddelke, Willis Gebert, Richard Fiddelke, Louis Meyer, Steven Bode, David Steffen, Wayne Fuhrman, Fred Fiddelke, Gary Axdahl and Tim Richter. Mrs. Elwood Schultz was the organist and the congregation sang two hymns. Final resting place was St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Germantown. Sophie Stoeckmann Fiddelke was born Jan. 30, 1882 in O'Brien County, Iowa. She had lived her entire life in the Germantown area with the exception of the last two years which she had spent in Primghar nursing home. She was married to Fred Fiddelke on May 24, 1901 andhe passed away January 24, 1961. Survivors include three sons, AlbertPrimghar, Herbert of Spencer, and Marvin of Calumet: six daughters, Mrs. Art Ella Gebert of Paulina, Mrs. Esther Meyer of Mallard, Mrs. Otto Lillie Bode of Primghar, Mrs. Ed Ruth Steffen of Granville, and Mrs. Herman Sarah Axdahl of Sioux Rapids and Mrs. Lawrence Elsbeth Richter of Lime Springs: one brother Ernest Stoeckmann of Paulina: three sisters, Mrs. Emma Meyer of Brookings, SD and Mrs. Ernest Strampe and Mrs. Fred Schuknecht both of Paulina: 34 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren. She was preceded death by her husband, one son, Hugo Fiddelke and one granddaughter, Connie Steffen. This information was published by the Paullina Times Jun. 1, 1972.
