Gerald “Gerry” L. Schmeckpeper, 86, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022. He was born in La Crosse to John and Helen (Bothe) Schmeckpeper onOct. 1, 1935.
Gerry is survived by his four children, Terry (Ruth) Schmeckpeper, of Appleton, GeriAnn (Dave) Hanson, of Fountain, Minnesota, Roxanne (Jeff)Tienor, of Suring, and Ronda (Justin) Andersen, of Spring Valley, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Katie (Joe) Behnke, Rebekah (Joshua) Koepsell,Jay (Jenna) Tienor, Breanna (Eric Hull and his children Emory and Khloe) Tienor, Angelina Andersen, and Fox Andersen; great-grandchildren, Nick and Zach Behnke, Jaxton and baby Tienor, Oliver Koepsell; sisters, Alice Holter and Arlene Terlson; sisters-in-law, Jan Schmeckpeper and Cheryl Greeno; and brother-in-law, George Haviland.
He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Daphne “Dolly” (Kennocott), in 2012; two brothers, Wilbert and Vernon Schmeckpeper; sister, Myrtle Johnson; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at Gruetzmacher FuneralHome in Suring from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain at 9 a.m. and continue until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steven Stoll officiating.Gerry will be interred at Mountain Cemetery beside Dolly later in theSpring.
