I had first Maria Elisabeth Redeker b. 1822 as the mother - which conform with the "Ortssippenbuch für die Katholische Kirchengemeinde Ostercappeln 1681-1900" from Mr. Horstmann - but according to the a passenger list from Baltimore from the ship Pennsylvania she emigrated 1838 with her sisters, her parents and paternal grandparents. So she can't be the mother. It is interesting though, she had given birth as a minor in 1838 shortly before the emigration, after which I find no more clues for her.

Anna Maria Elisabeth b. 1829 is a candidate. Looking this up. This potential mother - or at least her parents - migrated in 1837. There are records for her in Ohio and even born children in the year 1848.

Anna Maria Elisabeth Engel b. 1830 is also on a passenger list to America.

The candidates from 1822, 1829 and 1830 are impossible though.

A possible last candidate is Anna Maria Redeker b. 1824, sister of Maria Elisabeth b. 1822. She is the only daughter not on the ship manifest from Sep 1838. She also is not found in the death records for Ostercappeln. The question remains: Why would she be not on the ship else?

I would have understood, if 1824 would have been on the ship and 1822 was missing, since having given birth months before the trip would be a good reason to be left behind, but the ship's manifest says otherwise.

---

It is also not clear, why with two of her children after 1891 Redeker genannt [=aka] Raeuwer is mentioned. It could be a) she was later recognized by her father called Raeuwer (no records available) or b) this is the name of her step- or foster father. For b) I'm looking either for an early death of her mother or a marriage.

For a) a death of someone called Raeuwer might be interesting.

There are two Raeuwers born in (Oster)Cappeln in the right age to be her father: Johann Friedrich Ludwig b.1811 and Johann Heinrich b.1814, who seems to be August Raeuwers or Reuwers father as well, who appears as a witness at her wedding. It is not impossible for him to be her halfbrother then.

---

Interestingly, the civil record dated 11 Jan 1916 lists her parents as Heinrich Redeler and Maria Elisabeth Driehaus. Since the surnames of the mother clearly match the church record, especially if Maria has been married to Heinrich, but why is she listed then as illegitimate? Was there something in doubt with the marriage, was she widowed?

There is but one Maria Elisabeth Driehaus from Ostercappeln born 24 May 1805.

(parents Johan Bernard Driehaus, Maria Gertrud Krögers). I have a possible marriage here with Johann Heinrich Holtmann on 13 Nov 1823 which won't give her the name Redeler/Redeker.

And the contradiction between the documents stay the same.

Another interesting note: In the years after 1838 another person appears in Ostercappeln: "Franz Heinrich Brüggemann" with the remark: "nun Colon Redeker" now "farmer Redeker". Did he buy/inherit the old Redeker farm, after the former owners left Germany?

Could it be him, who is somehow involved in the story? His wife is called "Anna Maria Niehaus" which sound a lot like Driehaus. But the other names don't match and for the child or children to be born illegitimate I suspect she should be either not married or widowed. With a son Johann Heinrich Ferdinand born 1846 she can't be the mother of both children 1838 and 1848 and have the same familyname in both entries.
