There is no evidence that this William Johnson and his wife are buried at this location, but they are probably buried near this grave of their son Irvin D. Johnson or nearby in Braxton County, WV, perhaps on their farm. They are the earliest known of this family of Johnsons in my records. He is said to have been born about 1805 and he and his wife moved from Monroe County, WV (then VA) to Braxton County, WV (then VA) after 1841, with their six children. No information on their ancestors, but it has been suggested that they date back to Tidewater Virginia in colonial times. William Johnson and his wife Polly Davis had six children, four of whom have Find A Grave memorials. They are: 1. Irwin D. Johnson (1831-1909) 2. Delilah Jane (Johnson) Talbert (1833-1916). 3. Jane A. Johnson (born 1834); no information on death and burial; no record of a marriage; said to have three children,Adam (born 1863), Arabella (born 1865), and Charles (born 1868). 4. William Jackson "Henry" Johnson (1837-1875). 5. George Johnson: no records. 6. Charles Robert Johnson (1841-1902). Bio by Ronald Decker, his great-great-grandson.
