No Date. (Names scratched in top of large box tomb beside tomb of Jane, below. This must be the grave of William Renfro,Veteran of the Revolutionary War.) T.P.T.W. pg.D-233 -------------------- He was the son of William R. Renfro 1702-1789 and Elizabeth (Cheney) Renfro 1704-abt 1756 Virginia. William married (1) Chloe and had children; Peter, John, Lydia, Jane, Moses, Jesse, and Nancy. He married (2) Jane Gregory and had a son William Renfro, Jr. born 31 Jan 1797 Union Co., SC and died 6 Oct 1846 Maury Co., TN. William received payment for militia duty in South Carolina, "for militia duty since the fall of Charleston in Blandon's Regiment of Anderson's Return." Renfro was living in SC in 1799 when his youngest child was born. In 1811 he paid taxes on 100 acres of land on Fountain Creek in Maury County and one slave. William Renfro was buried in the family graveyard about two miles east of Culleoka, TN.
